Sopra Steria Recruitment is working in partnership with a major public sector in the UK. We are currently recruiting Commercial Manager for 6 months contract initially with possible extension.
Key tasks and deliverables:
- The ISTAR Windfarms Team has been set up to work with Industry to identify and implement technology to successfully mitigate the adverse effects of the presence of Wind Farms on Defence Radars.
- The incumbent will be required to provide commercial support to the ISTAR Windfarms Team in order to manage the commercial process in accordance with Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations (DSPCR) of a potential wind farm mitigation solution for Air Traffic Control Radars.
- This includes liaising with the Marshall Project Commercial team and client's subject matter experts such as legal and Intellectual Property Rights and Project team members to develop suitable Agreements that are fit for purpose and meets project objectives.
- The post will also require a high level of stakeholder engagement, including commercial agreeements with members of the Wind Farm Industry and engagement with the Department of Energy and Climate Change and Scottish Government and may include support to on-going projects for Air Defence Radar mitigations.

- Assessing the existing commercial landscape and looking at the impact on programme delivery.
- Designing and implementing approaches which ensure effective delivery of the right outcome for the department.
- Leading on supplier integration with regards to relationship and cost impact upon the department.
- Clarifying the ability to terminate current contracts, working with programme finance leads to understand impact and realisation of any potential benefits.
- The ability to renegotiate existing contracts. Managing the impact of existing commercial financial models.
- Acting as primary point of contact between the incumbent supplier(s) and the department.
