No to winter, yes to more Sun? 1 x Systems Technician is needed to join an international IT organisation in Valencia, Spain. This is an English speaking role and an initial 6-month contract, but with good performance there is the potential for multiple extensions.
If successful, you will join a multinational environment and work alongside contractors and staff from all over Europe, providing Systems administration, support, troubleshooting and deployments. Please note that this role is most suited to someone looking for a great work/life balance. Due to location and the client, it may not be the right role for someone focused on income potential.
Your Systems Technician duties will include:
  • Maintenance and administration of the Servers, operating systems and directory services
  • Managing and maintaining standard configurations, monitoring and analysis tools
  • Supporting data centre environments and the related incident management process
  • Final testing and deployment of server hardware, operating systems and directory service solutions
  • Providing technical documentation as a part of release processes
  • Offer tier one and tier two request fulfilment and incident resolution related to Platform and Data Center Services
  • Participate in the out of hours duty roster and stand-by services, as required
  • Perform other duties, as required.
Ideally you will have the following Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5 years experience in managing, administering and maintaining large Data Centre focusing on Platform and Systems Infrastructure
  • Excellent technical knowledge of Windows AD Directory Infrastructure and various integration services such as FIM and Exchange at the level of T2/T3
  • Good Knowledge of VMware and Linux Operating Systems (MS Windows . VMware VSphere, SLES and RHEL)
  • Good technical knowledge in operating and maintaining Enterprise Data Centers
  • Good technical knowledge of SCCM, SEP Antivirus, HP Management Suite
  • Basic technical knowledge of HP hardware (BL/DL/ML) and SAN EMC/HP technology
  • General understanding of Local and Wide Area Network concepts
  • Some knowledge of database and application systems including familiarity in Powershell and Shell Scripting
  • Experience in drafting technical documents
  • Exposure in Information Security Management System (ISMS: ISO 27001), ITIL framework and other industry standard related best practices
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team of diverse skills
  • Excellent knowledge of English (both written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of Spanish is a bonus!
