Title: Financial Reporting Team Ldr - MA

Location: Boston, MA

Client: Leading financial client

Rate: $41.00 - $48.00/hr on w2

Duration: 6 Months ( with possible extension )

Description:

  • The Financial Reporting Team Leader draws upon past experience, knowledge and expertise to supervise analyst's preparation of and/or draft and review of annual financial statements, regulatory filings such as CIMA filings and Forms PF and CPO-PQR for hedge and private equity funds.
  • The position provides support to the fund's Treasurer in connection with fund expenses and general fund financial information.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and/or prepare annual financial statements, regulatory filings such as CIMA filings and Forms PF and CPO-PQR for hedge and private equity funds.
  • Serve as an escalation point in assisting team members and reports with problem solving and issue resolution; utilize best judgment to escalate issues to senior managers as appropriate.
  • Maintain a working familiarity with applicable laws, regulations and interpretation of governing financial statements and disclosure, including the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Internal Revenue Code, GAAP and other applicable requirements.
  • Communicate appropriately with the Fund Reporting Manager with respect to all timetables and workflow, and communicate to the extent appropriate about all relevant matters with other department members within the client.
  • Perform special projects as directed by the Fund Reporting Manager.
  • Maintain knowledge related to regulatory changes affecting funds.
  • Assist in the implementation of proprietary and external systems.
  • Evaluate and develop enhancements to Accounting System (Eagle) and Financial Reporting system (Unity) to automate procedures for financial reporting purposes.
  • Communicate appropriately with other department members as well as the Financial Reporting Manager with respect to all timetables, workflows and relevant matters.
  • Review fund expenses and accruals.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in Accounting or equivalent discipline and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of mutual fund industry experience including at least four years of direct financial reporting experience. Highly organized, detail oriented. Self-motivated, capable of monitoring and completing a variety of projects simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Proven ability to work well in a deadline oriented, client-driven environment.
