Safety Engineer
A Safety Engineer with Defence and Safety Case experience is required to work on a six month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our defence client based in Dorset.
This is a 6 month contract with a leading UK defence company.
Overview of the Safety Engineer contract role
To guide development of the Safety Management System and Safety Case for a Submarine Weapon Systems, addressing and aligning of Safety Case outputs and also the Whole Boat Safety Case.
Key skills required for the Safety Engineer
- Previous experience developing and delivering Safety Cases (for MoD projects)
- Previous experience of working to Def Stan 00-56 (Safety Case development)
- Previous experience advising and guiding sub contractors in the development of Safety Case iaw Def Stan 00-56
- Candidate must have at least 5 years Safety Engineering practice in Maritime domain

- Good interpersonal skills are essential as the role requires frequent liaison with sub-contractor, departments, whole boat representatives
- Good written/presentation skills are required to articulate and present System Safety arguments
The role is based in Dorchester, Dorset - commutable from commutable from Weymouth, Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Blandford Forum, Bere Regis, Bovington, Sherborne, Yeovil, Crewkerne, Honiton, Axminster, Lyme Regis and Bridport
