Senior Planner- Defence

A Senior Planner with defence/engineering experience is required to work on a six month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our defence client based in Cumbria.

This is a 6 month contract working with a leading UK defence company.

Overview of the Senior Planner contract role

You will be responsible for assigning "Bill of Material" to appropriate plans, processing engineering change requests, establishing work order progress targets, carrying out Task Allocation activities in conjunction with Operations management and support in conducting analysis and regular performance reviews and corrective action plans within the Planning process for their discipline responsibility.

Key skills required for the Senior Planner

  • Have a reasonable understanding of the principles of an MRP system and be fully competent in its use and functionality
  • Have a recognised shipbuilding trade and/or good product knowledge
  • Skilled in the use of standard Microsoft packages
  • Be a proficient user of modern planning systems [eg SAP, Artemis, P6]
  • Previous experience of working in an IWT environment and/or experience of a major construction build would be advantageous

The role is based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria - commutable from Carnforth, Milnthorpe, Lancaster, Morecambe, Penrith, Workington, Whitehaven and The Lake District.
