Background

The Corporate Procurement Department is a key contributor to effective spend management at the bank and is responsible for all Group non-payroll spend.
The Corporate Procurement organization is organised around Category Managers, Purchasing Manager and Buyers who report to Procurement Directors.

Role:

The Purchasing Manager is to work alongside a Category Manager for the successful execution of sourcing strategies for products and services within their IT category spend domains, which can span from IT Infrastructure, Business Software, Network and Telco, Security to IT strategic projects.

As Purchasing Manager, your main objectives are to:

- Partner effectively with internal clients on key business projects and initiatives in line with the Category Sourcing strategy
- Oversee relationship with suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and best value for money
- Manage spend in order to ensure business and strategic objectives are met
- Identify and execute procurement rationalization opportunities which delivers effective and efficient use of suppliers while mitigating risks

In collaboration with the whole Corporate Procurement department, you share expertise and apply best business and procurement practices. You assemble and analyse all relevant information into an innovative business concept for the banks category.

You contribute to the procurement methodology and with a commercial approach to spend reduction.

Requirement:

- You have a minimum of 7 years of experience in Procurement
- You have acquired a solid knowledge and experience across the IT environment
- You have gained strong IT market knowledge - technologies, players, drivers, trends and challenges
- You are sensitive to the confidentiality of information and ethics are key to you
- You have excellent relationship management skills
- You have strong negotiation skills and have the ability to negotiate major IT deals in autonomy
- You are capable of working under pressure and to a keep focus on the best corporate solution
- You have a high level of ownership and can act autonomously as an advisor in your area of expertise
- Your written and oral English is fluent. French and/or Dutch are an asset.
