I am looking to hire a eProcurement Specialist for one of my Public Sector Client.

Key tasks and deliverables

  • To support commercial and procurement input across allocated programmes and specific areas. The exact assignment(s) will be confirmed following appointment and will reflect the candidates specific skills and experience alongside business need.
  • The assignment(s) will include support to one or more programmes/work streams within the paperless 2020 portfolio to enable digital transformation.
  • The work will include developing procurement strategies, managing senior stakeholders, managing supplier relationships, working closely with other category management teams and resolving complex commercial issues
  • Post holders will support and lead on strategic sourcing and complex procurement activities within a large (£multi million) area of spend. Post holders will be procurement leads for a (or multiple) complex and visible programme(s)/work stream(s). Post holders will require a proactive approach and strong leadership skills to drive commercial input, shape procurement strategy, provide policy advice and deliver hands-on procurement to ensure value for money across the organisation.
  • Post holders will work closely with commercial programme leads and other senior stakeholders across the organisation and lead negotiations on high value (£multi million) and complex contracts.

Experience Required

  • Good procurement & commercial experience ideally in the public sector and/or within the IT category.
  • Proven track record of leading on complex & high vale projects, ideally in the IT category.
  • Good management skills with the ability to delegate and lead
  • Ability to drive supplier performance, analysis, evaluation and selection
  • Proven track record as a procurement professional
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Strong communication skills - effective at building and managing relationships
  • Awareness of public sector procurement rules
  • Knowledge and use of a range of contracting models
  • Good business, commercial and financial acumen
  • Ability to challenge assertively without appearing defensive or aggressive
  • Experience of designing procurement strategies, awarding contracts, managing senior supplier and stakeholder relationships, managing the contracts and resolving complex issues.
  • Good negotiator who is proficient at developing and drawing upon fact based negotiation plans and operating at a senior level.
