Beacon Hill Technologies is currently searching for an IT Security Analyst for a client located in Cleveland, Ohio. This position is a 4+ month contract with the possibility of extension and the potential to hire.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Working under general direction, the IT Security Analyst works with the Information Security Team to protect the confidentiality and integrity of customer, employee, and business information in compliance with organization policies and standards. Activities will include performing daily security operational tasks including but not limited to security threat monitoring, data and risk analysis, security policy development, participating in and leading risk assessment activities, responding to help desk tickets, development and implementation of enterprise security controls, and delivery of advanced security awareness training to small and large groups.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide principal administrator support for and user management of security tools and services. Operate security tools and services to detect, protect, and defend the IT enterprise, and train and support team members in the established methods for use of security tools and services.

Perform detailed risk analysis on system, organizational and enterprise levels. Assist in planning and performing system risk assessments, including administrative, technical, physical controls reviews of new and existing IT infrastructure and facilities. Lead risk assessment activities as assigned.

Serve as a resource expert in assessing systems, processes, and projects against compliance requirements, control objectives, and security best practices; interact with internal and external technical staff and consult with project teams at various stages of project cycles.

Provide analysis of incidents over time and identify and schedule team efforts for immediate action to mitigate broad enterprise risk impacts. Act with discretion when in support of investigations.

Collect, analyze, correlate, and report on pertinent security metrics as required.

Manage identity-based security functions supporting the user identity life cycle including creation, removal, and update of user account information.

Provide expert support advice to team members and coach team members in optimization of support delivery processes. Provide customer support for security related matters as needed.

Lead elements of the security team in the continuous review, evaluation, and rollout of security tools and security administration tools.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Certification and Experience: Associate's degree and 7 years of progressive experience - OR- a Bachelor's degree and 5 to7 years progressive experience in a dedicated information security function or responsibility. The position requires the attainment and maintenance of industry-standard Information Assurance certification appropriate to the position within 1year of hire, if not currently certified (SANS GIAC, CISSP, Security+, or equivalent). Six-Sigma Green Belt certification preferred. Relevant technology-based certification such as CISCO CCNA or CCNP, Microsoft, Apple, RedHat preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Exposure to information technology concepts such as applications, security systems design, implementation and administration required.

Demonstrated understanding of system administration and network configuration for Microsoft Windows, Mac OX, or UNIX/Linux systems.

Demonstrated knowledge of security concepts including malware, intrusion detection, risk analysis, threat/vulnerability management, system hardening, and business continuity.

Demonstrated mastery and experience with information security risk assessment and management processes and standards.

Demonstrated working knowledge in at least five of the following infrastructure security concepts: Incident response practices, Data encryption technologies and standards (email, transit, file, etc.), Data loss protection systems and tools, Endpoint security software and management, Firewalls and Firewall techniques, Vulnerability management, Computer forensics practices, and Virtual private networking.
