Facilities Operation Manager - 12 months Contract - Stevenage

A leading Client of Modis is looking for a Facilities Operation Manager to manage the day to day hard and soft services resource team so that Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales and Support Satellite Business Units are provided with an appropriate environment and primary services to achieve their respective Business Objectives for which a number of European and UK sites and business depend.

The Facilities Operation Manager will be the day to day operational interface for delivery of Facilities Management Hard and Soft Services, emergency responses and customer service as directed by the Head of Facilities Operations..

As the Facilities Operation Manager you will liaise with the Clients business units and staff understanding and responding to their needs so far as is practical, legal and cost effective, through the efficient co-ordination of

  • Help Desk
  • Cleaning
  • Grounds Maintenance
  • Mechanical & Electrical maintenance PPM faults diagnosis and remedial repairs.
  • Emergency response and incident control
  • Performance reporting
  • Catering

This is to be achieved by the management of service levels with contracted incumbent's and/or designated internal team for front of house high profile customer service delivery as directed by the Head of Facility Operations.

The Facilities Operation Manager will produce reports as directed by the Head of Facilities Operations UK to monitor KPI`s from incumbent's and internal business service level agreements provided by Facility Management Services. Utilising best business practice to improve efficiency, by reducing variable operating costs while increasing productivity.

Key responsibilities:

  • To manage/operating systems and processes in line with UK Site Facilities Management SLA`s/procedures and company policies
  • Ensure site wide statutory compliance and being the primary contact in respect of all Help Desk and PPM maintenance and reactive repair issues
  • Undertake the local evaluation of risk assessments/method statements
  • Undertake performance reviews where directed for accountable activities such as remedial works contractor control and/or plant repairs
  • In an emergency organise and implement disaster recovery procedures liaising with Business Units and/or departmental management informing them of developments as directed by Head of Facilities Operations Stevenage
  • Respond to out of hour call outs and be readily available to offer support where necessary or as directed by Head of Facilities Management Stevenage
  • Prepare and submit KPI/SLA operational update delivery reports to Head of Facilities Operations Stevenage
  • Ensure that all of the services provided excel in performance standards and meet all customer expectations. The guidelines for standards are set in accordance with business, statutory and operational directives with particular focus on the FMS Service Level Agreement to the business
  • Liaise, produce reports and maintain standards for the specialist SLA elements such as M&E maintenance, Help Desk and cleaning services
  • To co-ordinate Health and Safety and Fire Safety across all buildings in line with safety guidelines and pertinent internal departments
  • Maintain and administer the site M&E asset Register, Help Desk activities and PPM maintenance performance
  • Participant in management and working groups as directed by the Head of Facilities Operations Stevenage
  • Receive training and use the knowledge for the benefit of the company and for personal development
  • Manage the variable financial spend driving cost efficiencies and increasing productivity
  • To ensure statutory compliance on the sites and ensuring all company insurance inspection requirements are carried out. You will be responsible for monitoring the compliance with Health & Safety legislation

Job/technical knowledge:

  • Minimum HNC or equivalent Operational background in Mechanical & Electrical installation and maintenance covering PPM, Help Desk and reactive repair in the manufacturing sector
  • M&E Building Services industry with a Manufacturing/production industry environmental clean room close control bias
  • Mechanical and Electrical maintenance and HVAC support
