Strategic PlannerProfessional membership of related discipline or degree level qualification in a relevant Engineering, Town or Transport planning discipline.
Role requires to implement a statutory responsibilities within the planning agenda. Undertake stakeholder engagement, balancing the needs and benefit of such engagement against the resources available to deliver that engagement. Manage resources to support effective delivery of responsibilities, including the effective management of our suppliers. Work collaboratively across organisational boundaries, ensuring effective liaison between areas of operation to deliver against corporate and directorate objectives. Identify network improvements that support economic growth, minimise environmental impacts and improve safety. To develop a prioritised, value for money forward looking programme of works. Contribute to effective management of contract performance and quality levels. Challenge all aspects of project development and delivery to achieve continuous improvement, ensure on-going value for money, timeliness and realise financial and operating efficiencies. Maintain effective partnerships with suppliers and other stakeholders to manage the relationship between customer and service users, enabling early identification of problems and the timely resolution of issues. Provide timely and informative reporting against performance objectives highlighting risks and issues to inform effective decision making. Assess safety performance to minimise risks, develop improvements and escalate issues with relevant authorities in a timely manner and carry out any tasks identified to the post in the Level 2 and relevant 2a Organisational Health & Safety RACI charts.
