Description

We are working with one of the UK's largest specialist distributors operating in large and diverse markets. Our client has four separate divisions, connecting suppliers to customers in an efficient, knowledgeable and service oriented way.

We are looking for a Part Time Contracts Manager (Maternity Cover) to manage a portfolio of EU compliant agreements as directed by the Interim Head of Services.

Hours will be 22.5 per week.

OBJECTIVE

To manage a portfolio of EU compliant agreements as directed by the Interim Head of Services

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for ensuring awareness of EU procurement changes and updating the team accordingly
  • Carrying out ongoing contract management including supplier performance reviews - in liaison with technical support as appropriate
  • Supporting customers with mini-competitions
  • Working with suppliers to ensure product and price changes are managed in a controlled and timely fashion
  • Keeping up to date with industry changes, supply chain pressures, general market intelligence, relevant standards, policies and government guidance and updating documentation as appropriate
  • Working with customers and suppliers to encourage use of the agreements
  • Attending exhibitions - meeting suppliers, customers, networking
  • Where required, working with stakeholders to ensure tender specifications and award criteria accurately reflect user requirements
  • Where required, compiling EU compliant tender documents, managing the tender process, evaluating potential suppliers, analysing tender results and making recommendations to the Interim Head of Services
  • Assisting with contractual queries relating to the copiers system
  • Assisting the team with administrative tasks as required
  • PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Awareness of EU Procurement essentials - with the drive to ensure knowledge is up to date
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), open minded - with the confidence to present at all levels
  • First class project, planning and organisational skills
  • A good eye for detail
  • Pro-active and thrives on taking ownership for projects, with the ability to work with strict deadlines
  • Shows initiative and ability to solve problems where standard procedures don't exist
  • Commercially aware
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel
  • QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE

    Essential

    • CIPS or working towards CIPS is essential
    • Current driving licence & valid passport
    • Good understanding of Microsoft Office

    EXPERIENCE

    Essential

    • Customer & supplier interfacing
    • A role working within EU Procurement

    Desirable

    • Experience of working within the fire sector
    • Experience using at least one eTendering portal
