Description

One of our leading Renewable Energy clients is currently looking for a Commissioning Project Engineer for an offshore wind farm asset in the UK.

The project is currently in the construction phase with first power planned in 2017 and the final handover to operation is planned for early 2018. The team is increasing to meet the requirements of the project and is looking for outstanding and experienced individuals.

The Commissioning Project Engineer role will be a direct report to the Commissioning Manager and deputise when necessary. This is a key delivery role in driving the offshore commissioning works in a challenging project environment.

Principle Accountabilities:
  • Work alongside Package Managers and key supplier representatives to manage the Commissioning Activities for the Wind Farm Operators Offshore HV Network and WTG's, driving the work packages forward to meet the project programme.
  • Planning daily activities between Subcontractors and the Project Commissioning Team.
  • Investigate and report on HV Network system events during the commissioning phase.
  • Deputise for the Commissioning Manager when required.
  • Manage all associated commissioning quality documentation files for TP/WTG's including Snag lists.
  • Team management including the provision of very clear documentation and directions to Commissioning Engineers and Technicians.
  • Ensure Asset Integrity of the HV Network and WTG's during the Commissioning phase.
  • Programme Planning for Commissioning Works and Network Outages.
  • Weekly/Monthly reporting on Progress and Issues.
  • Responsibility for the Commissioning Teams core responsibilities with regards to the programme.
  • Liaise with Engineering and Quality Departments.
  • Work Offshore when required.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Proven Electrical Project Engineer/Commissioning Lead in a HV substation/Cable/Wind Farm Environment.
  • Recent HV Network commissioning experience is desirable.
  • Offshore Wind Farm experience.
  • Self-starting with the ability to see the Bigger Picture'.
  • Proven track record in managing teams to achieve programme deliverables.
  • Understanding of HV Safety Rules.
  • Electrical Engineering degree/HNC is an advantage.
  • All tickets required to work offshore-GWO Approved.
