Pension Administration Operations Manager

An urgent requirement for a Pension Administration Operations Manager within a Partnership Services is required by a leading household name based in the City, London.

The successful candidate will have 30+ staff/partners directly reporting in and should be a collaborative person as the role requires lead by previous experience of an in-house administration pension scheme.

Pension Administration Operations Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • To lead and manage the day-to-day administration of a Pension Scheme working through Team Leaders to deliver a great Member experience in line with agreed service targets from the Trustee and which meets Regulatory requirements
  • Use experience and apply specialist knowledge to support with strategic direction of Pensions Service and develop the Pension Administration accordingly
  • To ensure key administration risks are identified and mitigated on an on-going basis
  • To work closely with colleagues and taking input from Trustee Services and the business, to create an annual plan for delivery of Pension Administration in line with overall Pension Office (PO) strategy.
  • To create an environment in which team members strive for excellence, feel supported and take ownership of their own development and career progression.

The role requires a collaborative leader who can apply their specialist knowledge of pensions operations to drive improved operational efficiency alongside a great member experience.

  • Apply specialist knowledge to support Operations Manager with development of the strategic direction of the Pension operation
  • Drive team wide engagement and active support to the strategic direction of the Pensions Office, Trustee and wider business
  • Ensure direct reports receive an excellent line management experience through regular and effective one-to-ones, feedback, coaching, identification of development needs and performance management as required, identifying ways for Partners to develop and own their individual career progression

This role would ideally suit someone who:

  • Has in depth expertise and understanding of how to develop and deliver an effective and efficient in house Pension operation
  • Handles interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically
  • Is a clear, concise, and confident communicator of complex issues
  • Can provide constructive challenge and influence
  • Has strong record of managing third party providers
  • Develops others, is confident having difficult conversations
  • Shows effective judgment, clear decision making as well as confident in making & executing difficult decisions
  • Is passionate about delivery of great member experience
