Description

This leading FTSE 100 business now have an excellent opportunity for an Expenses Administrator within their Financial Transactions team. The role is responsible for a number of processes relating to expense claims made by staff within the organisation.

The most significant part of the role is the review of claims and supporting documentation to ensure VAT recovery is optimised. This will require detailed and accurate records to be prepared and maintained to support VAT filings.

The role is also responsible for the review of high value expense claims and ensuring that these comply with company policy.

  • Liaising with finance and tax team members to create a robust set of processes and rules to review expense claims
  • Regularly reviewing incoming claims in line with the processes agreed
  • Analysing the VAT incurred on expenses and determining whether this is recoverable
  • Clearly documenting and supporting the rational of VAT recovery at an invoice level, maintaining meticulous records
  • Reviewing high value expense claims and ensuring that these comply with company policy
  • Supporting and challenging expense claimants and approvers
  • Understanding the expenses processes from end to end
  • Adhering to SLAs agreed within the business
  • Driving process improvement
  • Supporting other varied requests which come into the function

In order to be considered for this role you will need to have the following skills and/or experience;

  • Basic understanding of a finance function, ideally with experience of operating in a fast paced company
  • Strong communication skills
  • Drive and a willingness to change and challenge processes
  • Confidence to discuss and raise issues when they arise
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong planning/organisation skills
  • Basic to intermediate MS Office Skills - including experience using Excel
