An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Business Partner to work within Central Government on a contract basis. This position is based in Nottingham, initially until 9 months, offering up to £311 per day Ltd.
Main Duties:
The Senior Management Accountant and Business Partner role is to provide advice, support and challenge to budget holders and Senior managers about financial performance, based on reports at cost centre and directorate level. To deliver budgets and forecasting, assisting with the production of the annual Agencys Business Plan and longer term plans.
To work with the business to understand results, trends and key performance indicators. To consider and analyse the impact of decisions, providing helpful and meaningful financial advice.
Provide advice and challenge on financial assumptions and accounting treatment to budget holders and senior Corporate leaders (CSLs)
Agree an accurate monthly forecast with each budget holder within a directorate
Ensure month end activities are performed in a timely and efficient manner, including the preparation of accruals and prepayments.
Agree the annual budget allocation for the directorate for pay, non-pay and capital with all budget holders and CSLs
Essential Experience:
Qualified Accountant with at least 3 years experience in a management accounting or Finance Business Partner role
Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to relay complex financial concepts to a wide variety of audiences;
Excellent financial control and analytical skills and experience.
Proven experience of interpreting results, providing trends and performance indicators within a financial environment.
Demonstrable experience of the preparation and production of financial plans and financial management accounts.
Experienced in delivery of month end and year end financial processes.
Proven experience of delivering income and expenditure forecasts.
