Description

Control and Instrumentation Engineer (C&I) - Shipbuilding

A Control and Instrumentation Engineer with Shipbuilding experience is required to work on a twelve month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our defence client based in Cumbria.

This is a 12 month contract with a leading UK defence company.

Overview of the Control and Instrumentation Engineer contract role

To produce full Control System design/specification pack in accordance with IEC for the site.

Control and Instrumentation Engineer - Job Description

  • Functional Design Specifications
  • Hardware Specifications including Control Desk, I/O
  • Safety System Specification
  • Operator interface including HF aspects
  • Alarms and Interfaces
  • Based on End User/Operations requirements.
  • Produce Control System Architecture diagrams, Single Line Diagrams, Block Cable Diagrams as required.
  • Produce Designers Risk Assessments
  • Design configuration. Ensuring, via controlled issue and authorised change, that design configuration is declared and maintained.
  • Compliance with Site Codes and Standards.
  • To make most effective use of the existing on-board Sub systems specification(s) in delivering the above.
  • Familiarity with Maritime/Shipyard applications would be an advantageous.

The role is based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria - commutable from Carnforth, Milnthorpe, Lancaster, Morecambe, Penrith, Workington, Whitehaven and The Lake District.
