Description

The Engineer is required to design, install and manage Microsoft Lync solutions at enterprise level alongside more general Microsoft Engineering duties.

Please note that this role is on a secure government site and so applicants must hold current, valid SC clearance to be considered.

Required skills:

  • Unified Communication & Phone Engineer - Polycom, phones, PBX, SIP Trunk integration with Lync
  • Possess strong knowledge of all aspects of Lync 2013 to include IM, Voice, Voicemail, Persistent Chat Rooms, Unified Messaging and Federation
  • Possess strong technical skills in Lync Enterprise Voice capabilities and have perform integration would between Lync and commercial VOIP providers
  • Possess strong technical skills with Session Border Controllers, preferably AudioCode and can implement: Dial plans, Normalization rules, SIP trunks, SIP Security Protections (Application-level gateways, DDOS, malicious SIP blocking)
  • Experienced with mass deployments of physical Lync-Embedded endpoints, preferable PolyCom VVX-series handsets and can develop and deploy multiple profiles (user, hot-seat, and common-use phones)
  • Experienced with optimizing Lync Voice and Video over the networks through the use of QoS
  • Experience with Fax over IP solutions
  • Experience with 802.1X authentication/certificate authentication of PolyCom handset devices
  • Experience with Microsoft AD, SQL Server, SCOM (System Center Operations Manager), SCORCH (System Center Orchestrator), Exchange Server, Lync
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft best practices and build methods with proven expertise and professional level work experience with the above mentioned Microsoft systems
  • Proven experience supporting and troubleshooting Group Policy Objects (GPO).
  • Proficient in Microsoft infrastructure security
