Client: -

A systems integrator requires an Infoblox Services Engineer for an Infoblox global infrastructure/roll-out project with a bank to start ASAP for 12-18 months.

Role: -

  • Infrastructure Upgrade
    • Preparation
      • Perform Grid Member physical deployment testing utilizing template documentation created during Upgrade Planning.
      • Provide input into Change Coordination with regards to upgrade events utilizing template documentation created during Upgrade Planning.
      • Train the customer personnel on Grid Member deployment process to facilitate the physical deployment activities.
    • Upgrade Event
      • Perform Grid Member upgrade testing utilizing template documentation created during Upgrade Planning.
      • Support Grid Member upgrade Grid testing performed by the customer personnel to validate Grid functionality.
  • DDI Migration
    • Preparation
      • Perform DDI Migration data conversion/preparation activities utilizing template documentation created during Migration Planning.
      • Provide input into Change Coordination with regards to DDI migration events utilizing template documentation created during Migration Planning.
      • Train the customer personnel on DNS/DHCP migration process to facilitate the DDI migration activities.
    • Migration Event
      • Perform final DDI Migration data conversion/testing/loading utilizing template documentation created during Migration Planning.
      • Perform DDI Migration Grid testing utilizing template documentation created during Upgrade Planning.
      • Support DDI Migration testing performed by the customer personnel to validate Grid functionality.
  • Incident Response/Management
    • Assist operational teams with their day to day incident management and troubleshooting for complex and critical issues during local Business Hours with hand off to other regions when appropriate
      • Level 1 & 2 the customer' support teams own incident, interfacing into Infoblox Platinum Support personnel.
      • ASE to provide input, context and assistance in collaboration with established support processes
    • Work with Infoblox Platinum Support Resource to coordinate vendor resources during incident management and provide regular reporting on status and activities in collaboration with established support processes.
    • All incidents should be managed by official Infoblox support processes.
    • Assist Infoblox Support and operational teams with problem root-cause analysis at the network (Infoblox) infrastructure level.
    • Where appropriate, contribute to Post Incident Reports that include root cause, next steps, and recommendations for corrective actions
  • Reporting
    • In collaboration with Architect Team Lead and Project Management individuals, contribute to a weekly reports on activities provided during the past week, contribute and manage corrective action plans and other actions agreed for the next week.
  • Knowledge Transfer
    • Proactively mentor and uplift the skill level acquired thru formal Infoblox Training of the Infoblox certified global 1st & 2nd line Core Network team as related to the use of Infoblox products in the customer environment.
      • Provide knowledge transfer per plan developed by the Architect ASE.
      • Consideration needs to be taken for all the customer 1st & 2nd line locations, and it is anticipated that all locations below are actively involved and engaged against an agreed schedule. Infoblox suggests weekly calls and quarterly on site visits for two days designed to maximize knowledge transfer at each location.

    • Educate and embed best practice to ensure the hygiene of the DDI estate is maintained.
    • Knowledge transfer of all aspects of the DNS/DHCP program of work to members of the following teams, including but not limited to.
      • All regional connectivity 1st and 2nd line Support teams
      • All regional connectivity solutions teams.
      • Other infrastructure team eg: Platforms/Cloud
    • Working with the bank, using commercially reasonable means, to facilitate that all the roles and responsibilities described above can increasingly be undertaken solely by the bank and its staff.
  • Anticipatory Activities for Work Packages 6-10 (to be further defined in each Work Package SOW upon completion of Planning and Discovery Work Packages 1-5)
    • WP 6 - Infrastructure Upgrade
      • Review of Infrastructure Upgrade Plan and other documentation with Consultancy Engineering
      • Continue upgrade preparation activities as defined in WP 1
      • Hardware upgrade Change Coordination
      • Hardware upgrade event and documentation preparation
      • Hardware upgrade verification testing and support
      • Coordination of results with Supplier Project Manager and the customer
      • Train the customer Support personnel on Grid Member deployment process to facilitate future Grid Member replacement activities
    • WP 7 - IPAM Meta-Data Model
      • Review of Global IPAM meta-data model with Consultancy Engineering
      • Utilize tools and methodology for Infoblox IPAM data remediation developed by Consultancy Engineering
      • Develop and communicate IPAM data remediation conflicts to Consultancy Engineering and The customer IPAM team for action to take
      • Coordination of results with Supplier Project Manager and The customer
      • Train the customer personnel on IPAM meta-data model for future IPAM entry and maintenance activities
    • WP 8 - IPAM Integration Development
      • No anticipated activities
    • WP 9 - Endstate DDI Architecture Implementation
      • Review of Endstate Architecture Implementation Plan and other documentation with Consultancy Engineering
      • Implementation of Infoblox solutions as defined across appropriate Grids:
        • DNS Firewall
        • Reporting Server
        • IPAM for Microsoft
        • Advanced DNS Protection production enablement
        • vDiscovery
      • Coordination of results with Supplier Project Manager and the customer
      • Train The customer personnel on configuration and management of these solutions for future solution maintenance activities
    • WP 10 - Non-Infoblox DNS/DHCP Migration
      • Review of Migration Plan and other documentation with Consultancy Engineering
      • Utilize tools and methodology for non-Infoblox DNS/DHCP data conversion and validation developed by Consultancy Engineering
      • Participate in a subset of migration events as a shadow to learn migration process
      • Lead remaining migration events with Consultancy support
      • Coordination of results with Supplier Project Manager and the customer
      • Train the customer personnel on data migration tools and methodologies to perform future Router based DHCP activities

Candidate: -

  • Must have strong knowledge of Infoblox
  • DDI/DDoS/DHCP knowledge is also a must
  • Awareness of security applications would be a bonus
  • Experience with Migrations, Roll-outs, Reporting, Infrastructure upgrades & Integration in the above areas is also required.

Rate/Salary: -

  • Rand per day (South African Nationals)
  • £380 - £403 per day (Non-South African Nationals - all inclusive - no expenses paid)
