Next Ventures is urgently looking for a Openstack VMware (VIO) Consultant - VMware Integrated OpenStack (VIO) for a role in Dublin.
Scope:
VMware Integrated OpenStack (VIO)
Design, install and configure VIO as part of an Software Designed data Center (SDDC).
Includes the following skills:
- Understand the role VIO plays within a SDDC supporting an integrated VMware/OpenStack/Puppet stack
- Gather requirements, constraints, assumption and consider risk to provide a VIO design consistent with the desired target environment
- Specify design of VMware Integrated OpenStack installation and configuration to allow integration with OpenStack
- Design and configuration of VIO within a Disaster Recovery solution across multiple DatacentresTest
- Test VIO interoperability with OpenStack/Puppet
- Design, configuration and test of the following OpenStack components:

Nova (Compute)

Keystone (Identity) - to ensure authentication to end users with full audit trail

Neutron (Network)

Glance (Image) - to provide a repository for images and an interface for querying new images

Horizon (Dashboard) - to provide users and administrators with current and historical resource usage metrics and reports

Heat (Orchestration)

Swift (Object Storage) - including storage replication between Datacentres

Cinder (Block Storage) - including storage replication between Datacentres

Mistral (workflow) - to provide management for workflows

Ceilometer (telemetry) - to provide onward customer billing so that counters are traceable and auditable
- Definition of use cases for automated provision
- Definition and configuration of OpenStack APIs and scheduling rules for automated provisioning
- Definition and configuration of repository for OpenStack APIs
- Definition and configuration of access controls for execution of OpenStack APIs
- Definition and configuration of access controls for OpenStack administration
- End-to-end testing of OpenStack component and automated provisioning processes
- Identification of management and monitoring requirements
- Provide Knowledge Transfer to Service Management personnel and Standard Operating Procedures for both Service Management and OpenStack APIs
