Description
Tangent International are urgently looking for a OSP Engineer to work a 3-6 month extendable contract in South Africa (Cape Town).Experience:
Telecoms Fibre experience on FTTH GPON or similar - 5 years minimum.
The OSP Engineer performs all aspects of OSP engineering for fiber projects and will be heavily involved in activities including the following:
- Development of OSP planning/design documentation, plans and material specification for GPON FTTH projects.
- Special drawings/plant records, and any other duties to ensure projects are completed successfully.
- Fibre Optic Implementation, FTTH and GPON Experience and Knowledge is essential.
-The OSP engineer will meet or exceed business unit goals while maintaining quality standards, controlling expenses, and following company and business unit directives and practices.
- Site supervision of subcontractors in the field to ensure safety standards, quality levels and project deliverables are met.
- Liaise with customer ILO and home owners to ensure smooth execution of projects.
The successful candidate must meet a majority of the knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience requirements outlined below:
- Design, provision, document, and direct Outside Plant Fiber Optic Cable (UG, Aerial, Buried) and manhole and conduit design.
- Completes designs in accordance to customer specifications and guidelines
- Ensures the integrity of the customer access network is maintained and provides support for the deployment of access technologies.
- Update customer records.
- Adhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies
- Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
