Commissioning Services Specialist
Commissioning Services Specialist. One of my clients is urgently looking for a Commissioning Services Specialist for a 6-12 month contract in Prague, Czech Republic. The role is to manage commissioning and decommissioning of virtual and physical Servers, update of respective documentation, manage upgrades or downgrades of Servers, risk and impact assessment for relevant RFCs in Approval for implementation phase
The Commissioning Services Specialist will:
- Support Senior and Principal Colleagues in their assignments
- Risk and Impact assessment of RFCs in "Approval for Implementation" phase where decommissioning, upgrades or downgrades of HW is in scope
- Dispatching commissioning tasks
- Commissioning of physical HW up to OS level
- Commissioning of virtual Servers up to OS level
- Decommissioning of virtual and physical Servers
- HW data maintenance in internal tools where relevant
- Delivery Management and Maintenance of HW spare parts
- Managing HW upgrades/downgrades
- Setup and maintenance of GSN templates and respective workflows
- IP and DNS allocation
- HW ordering
- HP trade-in
- Managing door-to-floor HW delivery to DC (Servers/racks)
- DC capacity reporting -setup and routine processing
IS Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of wide range of infrastructure: Operating Systems, databases, Middleware, storage, monitoring and networking.
Methodology Skills
- Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
- Prince2 Practitioner
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Minimally 2-5 years' experience in a similar role within an IT operations department supporting business critical systems
- Experience in a large, multi-vendor, computing environment preferable
- University degree specialized to computer/technical area is preferable
- Excellent English knowledge, communication skills, and troubleshooting/problem solving skills
- Able to take full ownership of issues until resolution
- Excellent communicator, customer-oriented and a willing and active contributor to team work
