System Support Specialist (OS Linx)

For one of my globally leading tech clients, I am urgently looking for System Support Specialist (OS Linx) for a 12 month initial contract in Czech republic - Prague

The successful System Support Specialist (OS Linx) will have the following skills & experience:

SUMMARY:

The System Support Specialist is responsible for the resolution of issues with both the regional and global infrastructure server environment setup hosted within IT Services.

  • Responds to and resolves issues with both the regional and the global infrastructure server environment setup hosted within the ITS - 2nd level of Linux/UNIX server support.
  • Demonstrates a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to the problem solving. Has acquired an appreciation of the wider field of ITS outside his/her own specialization and has developed a good broad understanding of computer system architecture. Within a limited time horizon, is able to plan, schedule and monitor own work competently.
  • Consults as required on a project by project basis on server specification and capacity adhering to Global standards. Provides advice to users on systems, products and services, which are available to them.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administration of RHEL 5,6,7 Servers on 2nd level.
  • Resolve incidents concerning OS/HW on a day-to-day basis
  • Managing Security on Servers based on the clients Security policy
  • Troubleshoot server hardware
  • Continuous improvement of existing RUN service.
  • Oversees from OS level perspective the administration of all applications on RHEL based Servers by using appropriate monitoring tools.
  • Ensures continuous support is provided regarding operating system, software and hardware issues by answering questions and/or resolving problems.
  • Frequent contact and collaboration with IT support colleagues globally (EMEA, APIS, AMIS)
  • Documenting of activities and processes in own area for purposes of Knowledge Capture

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient strong knowledge of server administration skills (RHEL 5, 6, 7)
  • Fluent knowledge of English
  • Excellent communicator, customer-oriented and a willing and active contributor to the team work
  • Minimum 3 years IT experience
  • Minimum 1 years in similar role

Contract: 6 to 12 Months + Likely Extension based on performance
Location: Czech republic - Prague
