Description

We are looking for a Network Specialist to join our team working with an EU agency in the historic city of Strasbourg, seat of the European Parliament and home to many prestigious EU agencies.

Working under our contract with eu-LISA, you will help our client accomplish their mission of supporting all the EU member states for a safer Europe through technology.

Tasks will include:

  • Perform QA and QR (develop/update/review) on network design, network test and network installation plus its documentation & specifications;
  • Construct and maintain configurations for data networks;
  • Migrate and/or coordinate migration of network services involving several parties;
  • Perform troubleshooting of network problems utilising network analysers and/or sniffers and other troubleshooting tools;
  • Configure and implement network monitoring and management systems;
  • Implement and monitor network security;
  • Preparation, Planning and Execution of migrations of Network Services.

We are looking for candidates with the following profile:

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant education (Master or equivalent) after the secondary school and minimum 3 years of relevant IT experience;
  • At least 2 years of experience with proven expertise in Network migration;
  • Experience in the following topics:
    • DNS and IP administration;
    • TCP/IP, RIP, OSPF, BGP and/or EIGRP;
    • Network Management tools;
  • Ability to understand/review documentation and technical specifications related to network infrastructures;
  • In depth knowledge of network design, network capacity planning, network evolutions, network monitoring, network configurations;
  • Advanced/In depth knowledge of the domains of Internet-Protocol, Firewall administration, Firewall/VPN/load balancer configuration and troubleshooting (Cisco, Stonegate, F5 products are a plus);
  • Advanced/In depth knowledge of network configuration and troubleshooting like DNS, VLAN, IP routing, LAN, WAN;
  • Very good knowledge of encryption at network layer and encryption protocols (SSL/TLS, IPSEC, etc.);
  • In depth knowledge of the concepts related to load balancing, Firewalls, Switches (L2/L3), redundancy, IP Addressing;
  • Fluent English. French skills are not required;
  • Candidate should be eligible for EU Security Clearance.

This position is offered as a long term freelance contract. Applicants should be able to start as soon as possible.
