We are reopening the tender process for the role of CMS Expert (Intranet):

We are looking for 1x "CMS expert -/- Liferay Project Manager (Intranet project)" to start a 9 months contract (initial, extensions likely) consultancy for an internat.Org'-client in Rome.

Our client wishes to undertake a major project to build a new Intranet, building it on the Corporate CMS in Liferay with extensions in other products. Our client is an international organisation and a great reference in any CV! English speaking environment.

Start: JASAP; the (initial) contract will be for 9 months (extensions possible).

JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties and responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Project Steering Committee (PSC) and in close collaboration with the Project Coordinator, the Consultant will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Intranet project, guiding discussion internally on content, migrations, functionality as well as reporting periodically to the PSC and the Programme Manager Officer/Programme Manager (PMO/PM) on project status.

The key deliverables of the Consultant will be to:

  • Lead a distributed group of stakeholders and provide the vision required to deliver desired project requirements In conjunction with technical and business resources identify solutions which meet the user requirements already established
  • Build a comprehensive project plan to implement the Intranet project and ensure sufficient and appropriate resourcing throughout, both with internal business owners and external resources
  • Ensure that a clear content migration strategy including data cleansing based on the results of the ROT (redundant, obsolete and trivial content) analysis is put in place and managed closely with the content owners
  • Ensure a common corporate workflow is in place for the content migration
  • Guarantee sufficient training for end users of the Intranet as content owners or authors
  • Manage the User Acceptance Testing of the product
  • Oversee the pilot phase and report to the PSC change requests as necessary
  • Plan and manage the activities of the project ensuring efficient usage of assigned resources and adequate alignment of scope, schedule and budget
  • In cooperation with the PMO/PM, co-ordinate with Procurement on vendor management
  • Define strategies for and manage contingency planning and risk mitigation
  • Monitor and report on project progress, schedule, deliverables and risks, when required through regular reports, meetings, presentations and other communications. Prepare lessons learned and end project reports
  • In cooperation with the Project Co-ordinator and in consultation with the PMO/PM consider corrective actions for submission to the PSC review when necessary
  • Support effective and timely communication to, and involvement of, relevant stakeholders
  • Perform other duties as required

Professional requirements

Qualification and experience

  • A university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Communications or related fields, preferably at postgraduate level or its equivalent
  • Minimum of 12 years of work experience in IT at progressively senior levels
  • At least 12 years of relevant experience with track record in management of large Systems Development projects as well as of change management principles and techniques
  • Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level
  • Proven management and leadership qualities
  • Familiarity with the United Nations common system or international financial institution is desirable
  • Experience in delivery of corporate Intranet projects and familiarity with internal communications tools
  • Recognized Project Management Qualification such as PMP or PRINCE2 is desirable

Technical Experience

  • Experience of CMS technologies, in particular Liferay is desirable
  • Awareness of corporate software landscape and the needs for effective integration
  • High level understand of the technical aspects of implementing a CMS project
  • Experience of participation in and managing a CMS projects in large organizations
  • Knowledge of industry best practice and latest industry trends in CMS and Intranet developments
  • Deep understanding of UCD and responsive design
  • Experience in managing UXD designs
