Maintenance Engineer

My client is looking for an experienced maintenance engineer with a mechanical bias to join their maintenance team on site in Peterborough for the next 6 months. The ideal candidate will be working as a part of a team of 5-6 maintenance engineers working a variety of day, afternoon and night shifts. You will be providing maintenance support to the production activities carrying out fault finding, routine and non-routine preventative maintenance and project work including machine modifications and new installations.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide day to day Maintenance support to ensure minimal machine/site downtime.
* Work from Mainsaver system (or similar) ensuring critical equipment is prioritised as per business requirements.
* Complete Preventative Maintenance Schedules (PM's) across site in a pro-active manner.
* Work both independently and as part of an established shift team(s).
* Ability to carry out fault finding, diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical problems
* Identify root causes to problems and provide solution(s) to problems and implement.
* Involvement with projects and improvements including installations as required.

Requirements

* Apprenticeship trained
* ONC Mechanical and/or suitable relevant equivalent experience
* Experience working with machine tools
* PM's including electrical and mechanical modifications on a variety of complex machinery using problem solving and analytical fault finding skills.
* Have an understand of PLC's and fault finding, touch screen controls, drives, motion controls, relay logic and other associated controls.
* Have proven maintenance knowledge on complex machines, with experience within a maintenance environment.
* Ability to perform LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out)
* Understanding of motors, gearboxes, solenoid valves etc.
* Be able to follow Hydraulic and Pneumatic drawings to aid with fault finding
