Support Engineer (Linux and WebSphere)

One of my leading financial services clients in Leeuwarden is urgently seeking a Support Engineer (Linux and WebSphere) for a long-term contract paying excellent rates. If you like it, you will never have to leave.

The Support Engineer (Linux and WebSphere) will IDEALLY HAVE AT LEAST 65% of the following skills:

  • Knowledge of Linux environments, bash Scripting etc.
  • Knowledge of Apache/tomcat
  • Knowledge of WebSphere
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with (Java and Angular) Polymer)
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery using modern OSS tools such as Jenkins, Nolio, Maven, Gitlab and
  • Capacity/Availability Monitoring, knowledge of well-known OSS tools in this area (Logstash, Graphite, Grafana, Seyren, etc.)
  • You handle application risk controls in an efficient way, proactively contributing to prevent security and operational risks;

The Support Engineer (Linux and WebSphere) will perform the following responsibilities:

  • You are responsible for the migration from a Web Forms system to a new WebSphere platform.
  • You coordinate and regulate the installation, stability and monitoring of (D) -T-A-P environments.
  • You give advice on and implement life cycle management activities.
  • You ensure an efficient and effective handling of the ITIL processes within your team (incident -, configuration -, change management
  • You actively participate in the Scrum process and in Continuous Delivery Engineering Practices.
