Description
Flint are seeking engineers to support a long-term migration project in Rome, Italy. Successful candidates will work on the planned execution, troubleshooting, and follow up of scheduled migration activities in a Service Provider Network supporting remote teams during the migration windows. There will be three teams of four engineers working for 3 to 4 years. Italian speaking is required.
Required Skill Set
- Very good (hands on) knowledge of IOS (C7600) and IOS-XR (ASR9K) platforms.
- Experience with IPv4, OSPF, CEF, MPLS, label distribution protocols (LDP and BGP).
- Experience with MP-BGP VRF and Target- LDP signalled pseudowires.
- Experience with Service Instances (equivalent in IOS-XR l2vpn xconnect groups).
- Working knowledge of Linux and how to launch and supervise automated programs that will ease others' team work.
- Knowledge of Java and Shell Scripting.
- Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot Giga Ethernet (1G/10G) interfaces (negotiation, speed, cable crossed etc).
- Ability to solve and troubleshoot immediate issues (ie activating a port/deactivating a port).
- Experience with IOS and IOS-XR platforms.
- Working in a Service Provider environment
Preferred Skill Set
- Knowledge of Junos basic troubleshooting for Pwe3 and VRF configurations.
- Knowledge of basic Tellabs configuration to perform IPv4 and MPLS troubleshooting.
- Ability to troubleshoot Pwe3, VPLS (statically signalled) and IPv4 unicast VRF is required.
Soft Skills
- Ability to coordinate with peer foreseeing a common goal and plan
- Ability to adapt to minimal changes in the plan to achieve the goal.
- Coordinate on field teams and track and report activities against key performance indicators
- Ability to work during night time when required.
- Will be in contact with the customer daily thus a professional standing during the Customer interactions is a must.
- Ability to identify and quickly resolve an issue and engage the escalation points to minimize Customer network impact.
- Ability to gain the customer trust (via his/her technical knowledge) and address appropriately the issues.
- Report in a structured manner the issues encountered on a weekly and monthly basis.
