Proteus Europe is searching for anSQL Expert speaking Dutch available for a long term contract in Belgium

Your New role:-
- Responsible for small to large and complex Microsoft SQL Server environments from different of our customers and our internal organization.
- Main tasks are designing, setting up, configuring, managing and performance troubleshooting SQL Servers and SQL Server clusters. These SQL Servers can run on Physical Servers but also as Virtual Server on the VMWare virtualization platform.
- From the management perspective, giving consultancy for optimization of the SQL Server environments.
- SQL components in scope are SQL DB Engine, SQL Reporting, SQL Analysis Services, SQL Integration Services
- Acting in a team in a Global Organization and supporting engineers from offshore locations for activities that need high-level skills.
- Working in an ITIL-driven company and follow the adequate procedures with respect to Service Level Agreements.
- Willing to participate in a guard rotation system and willing to perform activities outside business hours if there is need for.
Your Skills and experience:-
Essential Skills:-
Technical Expertise:
- Good knowledge of Windows Server Operating System versions 2008, 2012 and optionally 2016
- Excellent knowledge of SQL Server versions 2008, 2012, 2014 and optionally 2016
- Excellent SQL Server knowledge in order perform deep-dive performance troubleshooting
- Knowledge of SQL Reporting, SQL Analysis, SQL Integration Services
- Relevant knowledge of High Availability techniques like clustering, replication and Always On
- Knowledge of Powershell Scripting
- Knowledge of VMWare vSphere
- Having programming skills is a Plus
- Having knowledge of Big Data is a Plus
- Having knowledge of Sybase is a Plus

- Having a passion for IT and databases
- Analytical and problem-solving way of thinking and being technically creatively
- Being communicative with colleagues and customers and being stress-resistant
