Windows Security Admin

Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a Windows Security Admin.

The Windows Security Admin will support security compliance across all Windows Servers in the IT Infrastructure space. This will require complete awareness of operational processes and procedures as well as Information Security hardening standards which apply to IT Windows Servers in our hosting environment. Responsibilities will extend beyond Windows-specific to include administration of Password Management for Windows and Unix Servers within the IT space. Vulnerability remediation will also be within scope for this role.

Role Responsibilities:
- Review vulnerability reports and follow operational processes and procedures to remediate vulns.
- Ensure security agents are installed on Windows Servers are reporting to the respective Security management Servers.
- Ensure consistent application of OS hardening baselines for all Windows systems globally through configuration & asset management.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills related to the Windows operating system, registry and networking/vLan dependencies in a global infrastructure including Firewall issues.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate activities with application owners as well as other technical staff. Written and verbal communication of technical activities must be appropriate to the admin, developer or manager.
- Experience working with event and incident response teams in identifying and mitigating security events as well as incidents involving compromised server environments.
- Motivated self-starter with self-sufficiency in navigating enterprise scale processes and communication challenges. (Strong communication skills.)
- Ability to take ownership of tickets assigned and close them within SLA, including timely escalation when required.
- Ability to anticipate problems and take decisive action, giving regard to the impact.
- Ability to adjust personality style to different situations and individuals.
- Work with Excel data sets describing server records and related Configuration Items along with issues identified as part of a remediation effort.
- Consistency in execution and communicating status, especially as a member of a global team.
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

Experience Required:
This role is a security systems administration position and the candidate must have deep knowledge of the configuration and management of the Windows platform at an enterprise scale This role also requires a solid understanding of the security risks to that platform, and how to mitigate those risks.
- VMWare infrastructure, host and client administration.
- Active Directory multi-domain environment.
- Enterprise configuration management tools (ie SCCM) and its capabilities.
- Change Management processes in a global enterprise.
- Administration/automation Scripting in a Windows environment. (ie Powershell)
- IP Address management. (ie InfoBlox)
- CMDB or Asset Inventory (ie BMC Remedy)
- IT support ticketing system (ie BMC Remedy)
