Description

Rotation: 2 weeks on/2 weeks off - onshore based.
Benefits: 50% covered for Travel days/Accommodation covered.
One of our leading WTG Inspection and Engineering clients are currently looking for a WTG Quality Inspector to be working on an Offshore Wind Farm project on the pre-assembly of Wind Turbines; based along the East coast of the UK on an initial 7 months contract.
The WTG Quality Inspector is responsible for completing inspections on tower components and ensures that the site team follows correct company policies, procedures and work instructions whilst upholding and prompting the companies commitments to quality, health and safety and environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • To work closely with the Material Coordinators and Client Representatives in completing inspections on tower components that are received into the storage areas and identify any damaged or missing parts.
  • To work closely with the Technician Teams to ensure that correct tower assembly procedures and processes are followed.
  • To complete routine spot inspections to verify the quality of work together with completing the walk down/take over inspections in conjunction with the Snagging Supervisor and the Client Representatives.
  • Maintain and implement the agreed quality standards and management procedures throughout the project.
  • To conduct and track Quality, System, Process and Product Audits.
  • To effectively communicate any HSE issues or equipment issues found on a comprehensive daily report.
  • Monitor Operations to ensure that they meet clients standards.
  • Recommend adjustments to the assembly or inspection process.
  • Recommend removal of all products that fail to meet inspection criteria/specification.
  • Assist in failure investigation, where equipment fails.
  • Discuss inspection results.
  • Report on Inspections and Test Data.
  • Ensure site specific paperwork (LOA/Permit to Work) is signed prior to access to asset or implementation of workscope.
Key Skills:
  • Minimum of 3 years continuous work experience as a Turbine Technician.
  • Minimum of 3-6 months WTG Quality Inspection Experience.
  • Electrical & Mechanical background.
  • Extensive experience of working on Onshore/Offshore Wind Farms.
