Software & Control Engineer - 6m contract - £360 a day - Northampton
We are looking for skilled, creative application software engineers capable of delivering solutions of the highest standard on fast paced and technically challenging projects. You will be working for a well-known automotive company therefore experience working in the automotive industry is highly preferred.
Role Specific Accountabilities
- Develop the HIL testing capability of the production software group.
- Design plant models and communication interfaces to allow detailed closed-loop testing of control ECU's.
- Specify the hardware and communication interfaces to control ECU's and support the build of custom wiring.
- Develop the HIL capability to support automatic regression testing of functions and diagnostics.
Knowledge, skills and experience required
- Minimum of 3 years in a software development/testing environment, preferably Automotive.
- Knowledge of the full production software life cycle including requirements, design, code and test.
- Excellent understanding of automotive hybrid systems operation
- Knowledge of dSPACE HIL testing hardware, configuration and setup.
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (eg CAN, LIN, Flexray)
- Experience of Scripting languages such as M-Script, Python, CAPL, etc.
- Use of calibration, diagnostic and measurement tools such as INCA, CANalyzer, CANape.
