Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this program is to transform the way IT services are provided to the customer by implementing a sustainable, efficient, and modern infrastructure. This team will Implement IaaS including IT infrastructure implementation and Integration, Application and data migration, Enterprise Service Management and Control tools and equipment to include establishment of Service Operations Centre(s), and implementation of client provisioning services including virtual desktops, client installations, and print/scan solutions. The work involves the buildout of three data centers and the modernization of 41 additional sites to establish an efficient, centrally-managed enterprise.

The Configuration Manager is responsible for configuration management (CM) of developmental and operational systems.
Maintains an understanding of warranty practices and tracks warranty agreements with configuration items (CIs) to ensure solutions are captured in the event of a warranty claim
Maintains traceability and metrics of warranty mapping, renewal and support in the configuration management database (CMDB)
Maintains version control of hardware and software assets and documentation
Maintains, executes, and updates the Configuration Management Plan (CMP) and maintain a current SOP for all CM practices and procedures
Serves as the owner and developer of the CMDB throughout the life of the program and during the Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) period
Executes and updates a CI tree which is provided as an update to the CMP and track revisions based on outcomes of site surveys and PDR
Tracks all service assets as CI from the system level down to the Line Replaceable Units (LRUs)
Designate, track, and record the version for all complete hardware elements as CIs; all COTS software as computer software CIS; and all bespoke documentation as documentation CIs
Responsible for configuration control of the baselines and CIs
Prepares documentation of each baseline (Functional Baseline (FBL), Allocated Baseline (ABL), Product Baseline (PBL) and ensures its traceability IAW with contract standards and best practices
Defines and executes the configuration control board (CCB) and its charter and maintains the current version as the program progresses
Utilizes configuration control procedures for the handling of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and their urgency and documentation in Configuration Item Development Records (CIDR)
Performs Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) where each CI has a unique configuration record (CR) and unique identifier within the Asset Record (AR)
Maintains and develops the Known-Error Database (KEDB) including all errors, trends, and data analysis within the CMDB
Participates in special projects as required.
BMC product experience is preferred, including but not limited to Remedy, Atrium CMDB, and Atrium Discovery.
ITIL certification and/or understanding of ITIL practices is preferred
Understanding of PRINCE2-based CM processes is preferred
Candidate must be able to travel up to 20%, per year, or as required."

EDUCATION

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

8-10 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.
