Video System Engineer Profile
Essential Experience
- At least 4-7 years of experience in Video Headend, operator/Administrator experience is highly valued.
- At least 2 years of experience working in ARRIS Headend. DAC, RADD, NC, ARPD, OM, CAP, DM, AGB
- Knowledge of video (cable) and OTT
- System Center tools (Operations Manager, Configuration Manager, Virtual Machine Manager),
- Video Troubleshooting techniques and tools
- IP Networks Design and troubleshooting
- Experience in Video Multiplexers
- Experience in DVB Headend
- Proven consultative skills
Desirable Experience
- Good Knowledge in IPTV HeadEnd Hardware
- Knowledge of one or more specific Cable Television and related technologies
- Digital Television, Video on Demand, Switched Digital Video, IPTV
- MPEG2, MPEG4, Video Compression, Digital Modulation
- DOCSIS, PacketCable and/or SIP based VoIP
- HFC network technology and optical networks
- Data Networking, TCP/IP, routing protocols
- Network management (eg SNMP based tools and monitoring)
- Proficiency with test/monitoring equipment is a plus (Data Networking (eg Etherreal, MIB browsers, CATV (Spectrum Analyzer), VoiceQuality Tester, etc.)
- Proficient with one or more computer operating and database systems (Unix, Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, Oracle, etc.)
- Good Knowledge in Monitoring room (Video Operating Center) design, implementation and operation
- Familiar with telecom standards
- CCNA certification a plus
- Practical knowledge of HFC Network Operations
- Practical knowledge of Headend RF equipment.
