Integration Architect

As our Integration Architect you will:

deliver integration models and architectures in line with business and IT requirements and our SOA reference architecture;
assess the impact of business change requests on the existing architecture and support the prioritization of these changes;
provide technical direction and guidance on projects ensuring adherence to the target architecture standards;
cover data architecture, application architecture, SOA and event architecture, so this is a broad role covering all types of architecture.
work in close collaboration with the project stakeholders to understand the business requirements so that recommended options provide the best fit against requirements and budget;
understand very well the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) drivers and contribute to keep their evolution under control;
perform the design authority role on Integration related projects ensuring that the detailed designs and solutions remain aligned to the defined integration architecture, managing and resolving any issues as they arise;
keep a watchful eye on technological and methodological evolutions in the EAI/SOA/ESB/BPM domain and introduce these evolutions at the right time;
ensure correct and up-to-date application architecture artefacts and blueprints;
collaborate with colleague architects in providing consensus-based IT solutions that are scalable and adaptable to changing business needs.

Context
Market dynamics, regulatory and technological evolutions (demand side management, smart metering, mobility, social media) in the energy sector put a high pressure on IT. As such the job requires the ability to place the numerous demands of our business units in the overall context of the evolution of the IT systems, and hence the facilitation of the indispensable tradeoffs.
You will join a team of 10 solution, domain & enterprise architects working on both the application and infrastructure side of IT. The company has a varied IT landscape supporting commercial, billing, energy generation, trading and corporate activities. Your role is delivery focused and fast paced. You will work in close collaboration with Business Analysts, Architects, Business Relationship Managers and coach our technical analysts.

Qualifications

As a prerequisite to becoming our Solution Architect you:
hold a master degree in exact sciences (preferably in IT) or have attained comparable level through relevant experience;
You have at least 3-4 years' experience as an Integration Architect.

You are familiar with most of the following domains:
SOA and BPM solutions, preferably from IBM:IIB, WSRR, BPM, BAM, Worklight
Linux (SUSE)
Java technologies and J2EE application Servers
XML technologies & web services: WSDL, WS-*, XSLT, XPath, SOAP, REST
Security: PKI, SSL, SS
EAI patterns and Middleware technologies (WebSphere MQ, MFT, BPMN, )
Hands-on experience with integration Middleware and common messaging technologies. Proficiency with at least one EAI/ESB Suite an advantage
Proven ability to contribute in a team environment and deliver under pressure
You are good at writing architecture and design documents.
able to explain complex technical solutions in plain English and French or Dutch to your business management allowing them to evaluate options and take the right decisions.
are experienced in using EA frameworks (TOGAF, ZACHMAN, etc.), certification is an asset.
have strong listening, communication, facilitation, influencing and analytical skills.
are able to transform theoretical concepts into pragmatic and working solutions
are able to identify opportunities, threats, impact of changing technology.
are interested in understanding the energy generation and supply business.
You enjoy following the breadth of the ICT market (trends) and you like to be perceived as an expert in your field.
