Description

Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation and configuration of Oracle Middleware in a new data centre. The role will be mostly hands on with a little bit of adhoc design.

It is quite a complex installation for a variety of reasons. This is a big project, that is very customised, and that will give the client high availability. The client has multiple sites in Ireland. Outside of Weblogic, the candidates need to be familiar with the DevOps process. The candidate will need to be a Weblogic expert.

Design

Provide functional expertise in the creation of Infrastructure Technical Requirements.

Provide technical expertise in developing and reviewing detailed infrastructure designs/specifications for multiple technology stacks.

Strong understanding of business and financial implications when assessing solution requirements or changes.

Ability to bring own technical expertise to provide critical assessment of technical designs and adapt designs accordingly to change requests. Build/Configure

Provide functional expertise in the development of KPI/metrics used in Infrastructure and service management.

Provide functional expertise in the review of vendor build/configuration, tracking progress of infrastructure implementation against the stated requirements and design.

Technical SME in configuration and deployment of Oracle WebLogic components, such as Oracle SOA/BEPL/B2B/OSB Provide guidance to the client's internal infrastructure team on infrastructure designs

Ability to take technical lead in implementation of new infrastructure components ensuring build plans are executed accurately, adequate infrastructure testing is performed by service providers, assurance of good practices in build and configuration of core software and ownership of issues identified during build through to resolution. Testing

Work with the Test Manager and Test Team to support the development of the technical Test Plan and Test Cases

Provide technical input in the creation of Test Cases and Scenarios

Devise acceptance tests for execution post-build of infrastructure prior to handoff to the development team/s.

Ensure quality of test materials and testing meets the necessary standard and is in line with technical/non-functional designs and as defined in the technical designs Knowledge, Skills and Experience Essential

5+ years technical expertise in Linux, application Servers (Tomcat, WebLogic), web Servers (Apache) Oracle Database, networks, SAN, Load Balancers, VMWare, VPNs.

Coding and debugging experience in Java and SQL.

3+ years experience of designing High Availability WebLogic solutions according to defined business requirements

Experience of designing WebLogic Domain structures and WebLogic Security structures to ensure both resilience of solution, technical coherence and ongoing supportability.

Experience of implementing Oracle WebLogic components on Linux (Red Hat, CentOS, other)

Experience of design, implementation on operation of environment management on large scale multi-vendor programmes.

Has significant systems delivery life cycle (SDLC) experience. Has been involved in similar programmes with a strong understanding of each phase of the delivery life cycle.

Has experience delivering projects in the Energy industry

Has experience working within and alongside cross-functional teams on similar engagements

Experience developing client-facing deliverables and presentations, for a variety of audiences, including senior management

Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritise a variety of ongoing tasks Understanding and familiarity with project and programme reporting processes and metrics
