Job Purpose & Objective:
• General operational expertise, understanding of system capacity, bottlenecks, basics of memory, CPU, OS, storage and networks
• Hadoop skills. Should be able to add and remove nodes, keep track of jobs, monitor critical parts of the cluster, configure name-node high availability, schedule and configure it and take backups
• Good knowledge of Linux as Hadoop runs on Linux
• Some java knowledge
• Knowledge of Unix Commands
• Sound knowledge of Unix based file system
• Knowledge of networking / Active directory / Kerberos
• Be able to troubleshoot queries running on cluster and provide support to users as to more efficient ways of running them
