A global Pharma superpower is currently expanding its internal capability around Oracle technologies and has an exciting opening for an experienced DBA to join their Prague based team on an initial 12 month Contract assignment that will extend into late 2018.
As part of the technical service for Database Hosting Services, this role is responsible for Senior DBA support in the areas of:
o Database engineering, architecture, tools, & processes for operations, projects and service improvement
o Resolving critical incidents, support either the ext. service provider or taking over escalated incidents
o Build new solutions (Prototypes, Template, Concept) and lead technical Design in Changes and
Projects
On behalf of Service Innovation, you would be in charge of identifying demand/CSI, trends, (IT) best-practices, (Joint) Solution Evaluation, Approval and support of Change/Project
As an Engineer, the responsibilities require to execute standard Service Requests, mainly in the area of
o Oracle System/DB Enhancements
o System Maintenance/Upgrade/Patch Management
o Back/Restore of DBs
o Disaster Recovery & High-Availability Management
To be an operational support in exceptional situations (escalated or major Incident) within Monitoring & Performance Tuning of SQL Server/Databases as well as Administration and Security Management of SQL databases
The technical scope of the job includes
o Oracle 10g, 11g & 12c
o Oracle 12c/13c Grid OEM
o Oracle ASM and ELT
o Oracle Data Guard and RAC
Requirements:
At least 10 year experience in Oracle 10g, 11g & 12c database administration in an Enterprise production and non-production environment
At least 3 additional year experience in database programming, IT Operations, or application development
Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline, computer science, engineering or mathematics
Experience in automating the process of Installation, Deployment and Patching of Oracle binaries and databases.
Oracle ASM (Automatic Storage Management) installation, configuration & administration knowledge
Experience within installing, configuring, patching & administration of Oracle Data Guard 11g & 12c and Oracle RAC 11g/12c
Knowledge of upgrading, installing, configuring, patching & administration Oracle software version from 10g & 11g to 12c
Knowledge of Oracle 12c/13c Grid OEM for administration, monitoring & performance analysis of Oracle instances
Good working knowledge of Linux, Sun Solaris, AIX & Windows Operating Systems
Fluency (oral and written) in English, any additional language is a plus
Criminal record is required as part of the background check prior to joining
