Description

As the storage and data backup engineer, you will be responsible for basic application support, installing fixes and patching on operating systems and monitoring the infrastructure and back up environment as part of large migrations, implementations and customer-facing projects.

Position: Storage/Spectrum Protect Engineer

Start Date: ASAP

Location: South of Wallonia

Languages: English and French

Duration: 6 months, extendable

Daily Rate: Very Competitive

Responsibilities:

  • Managing AIX and Spectrum Protect(TSM V7) environments of 15 customers
  • Working on various migration, upgrade, implementation and customer on-site projects
  • Installing fixes and patches on the operating systems
  • D2D monitoring of the infrastructure
  • D2D monitoring of the backup environment
  • Automation of the monitoring actions
  • Basic application support towards the customers in a managed operations context
  • Writing scripts
  • Request handling
  • Analysis and debugging of incidents and problems
  • Installing and configuring new clients + various TDP's on Windows Servers
  • Configuring replication between 2 back-up Servers
  • Knowledge transfer of D2D procedures to the customer responsible for the backups + providing documentation
  • Documentation update related to incidents and changes
  • Reporting storage usage for all the managed operations customers
  • Work-out test scenarios
  • Testing new hardware

Technical Requirements:

  • Lan free back-up
  • TDP for Oracle
  • TDP for exchange
  • TDP for SAP
  • TSM versie 7
