This global Pharma Powerhouse are hiring yet more technical experts for the Center of Excellence in Prague on an initial 12 Month contract!
This role is responsible for:
*Engineering and subject matter expertise in the area of NetBackup environments covering both technical engineering and BAU support activities
*Supporting design, documentation and deployment of new NetBackup environments (including server hardware, OS, backup product configuration or Appliances or Data Domains) to target host and replication sites; replication sites can also include public cloud providers such as, but not limited to, AWS
*Setting up deduplication for backup appliances between target and replication data centers
*Working with diverse teams to resolve issues with NetBackup backup operations with new and existing BAU installations
*Building solution packages based on pre-defined reference architecture to migrate Windows 2003/Backup Exec at global customer locations to the new target architecture. Solution packages include-but are not limited to-the following elements
oDeveloping technical diagrams comprising of network connectivity to geographically dispersed data centers; Diagrams include details such as Switches, ILOs, IP and vLan configuration; storage pool sizing and configuration as well as target replication device sizing and configuration (eg, Data Domains, NetBackup appliances or other storage targets)
oBuilding qualification documentation such as Installation Qualification and Operational Qualification Documentation
oWorking with technical writers to finalize installation and other site specific documentation
oBuilding and configuring NetBackup Master/Media Servers
oDeploying and configuring NetBackup appliances and Dell/EMC Data Domains
oBuilding scripts to automate the deployment of backup agents in the target sites (eg, NetBackup and/or DPA agents)
oBuilding technical test scripts as needed to test disaster capabilities between host site and target replication site
oEnsuring all documentation of solutions follows company standards and is clear and concise
oBuilding and configuring backup jobs in target environment in a controlled fashion (ie, under change control)
*Participating in the design and building of new data protection solutions (Prototypes, Templates, Automation; Focus NetBackup; Secondary: Commvault)
*Translating architectural/conceptual designs and/or vendor technical specifications to detailed technical design specifications
*Organizing and coordinating the activities associated with installation, deployment, and upgrade or repairs to core Backup infrastructure
*Providing senior-level technical support for Backup tools and their related infrastructure (VTLs, physical tape libraries, Proxy Servers, storage pools or other de-duplication devices)
*Performing upgrades as necessary (Agents and Server software)
*Performing L4 support where needed with such problems as missed and/or failed backups or backup infrastructure failures
*Supporting the service delivery organization when needed to perform recoveries of files and or directories as requested from end users through the Ticketing system (Remedy On Demand and ServiceNow)
*Supporting DR Tests as needed and aligned to business customers requirements
