Security Engineer
Our client, who is one of the major telecommunication companies based in Belgium are currently looking for an experienced Security Engineer. You will join an experienced security team and contribute towards the corporate security vision, strategy where you will be expected to add value.
Responsibilities:
- The detailed analysis of security aspects of business projects, ensuring projects are provided with the required technical guidance to guarantee sufficient Security controls are implemented in the different projects
- Provide guidance for security activities in the system development life cycle (SDLC) and application development efforts as well as consultancy and support to operational departments.
- Enhances the SOC detection capabilities (identifies & builds use cases, processes and analytical steps)
- Setup and configuration of the security probes + tuning
- Integration of detection capabilities/logging into SPlunk
- Works with all units of the company to identify security requirements, using methods that include risk and business impact assessments.
Profile
- Knowledge of the security of Telecommunication networks (like signalling protocols and network elements) is a plus.
- You understand general network environment (LAN, WAN, WiFi, Routers, Switches) and network communication protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP, MPLS)
- Practical knowledge of security systems and good knowledge of security solutions on the market (eg Firewall, DMZ, SSL/IPSec VPN, Proxy, Remote Access, PKI)
- Good conceptual knowledge on Cisco technology
- Splunk knowledge is definitely a plus
Other competences:
- Preferably a University degree, or an equivalent experience can be demonstrated (eg. Civil/Industrial Engineer, License in IT)
- Proven project management skills; able to stand alone, ability to coordinate, ability to deliver projects
- Spontaneously reporting progress, status and raising awareness on risks & issues
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Language skills (Fluent English is mandatory)
