Our Customer In Norway is looking for a Surveillance Network Operator .

The Surveillance Network Operator position and the competency of those occupying the role are critical to the success of our customer´s project. In most instances, the first contact a customer has with representatives on the project will be via the NOC and they, quite rightly, expect the Surveillance Network Operator to be knowledgeable, well skilled and articulate.

Whilst on shift, you are responsible for the Norwegian Public Safety Network. This is not a position to be taken lightly - peoples' lives will depend on your ability to keep the network running smoothly. You, and only you, will see the overall picture - which elements are functioning, which aren't, and what the impact is to the customer as a result of malfunctioning equipment.

Key Tasks:

  • Monitor transmission, base station, control room and core network elements using developed tools.
  • Understand network topology and element interdependencies.
  • Identify and interpret alarms and comprehension of alarm impact.
  • Ability to prioritise alarms and incidents and act accordingly.
  • Provide first line investigation support on customer faults received.
  • Operate daily within a structured ITIL framework.
  • Understand and operate within clearly defined SLA agreements.
  • Escalate faults to second line support, providing the necessary detail.
  • Maintain good working relationship with customers whilst showing knowledge and competence.
  • Provide support to field technicians.
  • Understand escalation and emergency procedures and when to invoke them.
  • Log ticket information clearly and update regularly.

Key Requirements:

  • Ability to speak, write and communicate clearly in English (as well as Norwegian).
  • NOC or support desk experience.
  • Excellent core and/or transmission network knowledge.
  • Technically skilled with recent IT/Telecommunication background and/or education.
  • Ability to operate according to SLA's
