Network Support Engineer - The Hague - 12 Month Contract - €410 per dayA global technology consultancy has an opportunity for a Network Support Engineer to work at a prestigious European institution, based in The Hague, Netherlands, on an initial 12 month contract basis, with extensions highly likely.
The Network Support Engineer will be responsible for all 2nd and 3rd line support activities for the Security Perimeter infrastructure. These activities will help to ensure the correct and optimal functioning for the infrastructure, as well as for the different systems and appliances that guarantee the availability of secure access.
Responsibilities
The major operational activities for the Network Support Engineer will be to maintain a fully documented, correct and complete rule-base for the different redundant Firewall clusters, including VPN termination points and NSX setup. You will continuously monitor the logging of the Firewall infrastructure and the NSX logs for malicious events.
The Network Support Engineer will support the following systems:
- Load balancers (F5)
- SSL termination (F5)
- Packetshapers (Bluecoat)
- Proxies (Bluecoat)
- Application Firewalling (F5, Juniper and Checkpoint)
- Intrusion Detection (Checkpoint)
- Network Access Control (implemented on Cisco infrastructure)
The Network Support Engineer will have sufficient operational experience at minimum level of SFIA SCAD or NTAS Level 5 or above, as well as certification at a minimum level at one of the following:
- JNCIS-SEC for the Juniper environment
- CCSE for the Checkpoint environment
- VMware Certified Associate 6 - Network Virtualization (VCA6-NV)
- CCNP for general switching and routingor
- F5 certified technology specialist
