Description

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational & technical support & maintenance for Cloud based platforms across the Liberty Global group.
  • Operational, initiative and project based activities.
  • Availability management adhering to business defined SLA's.
  • Preventative systems maintenance, including patch management, security management & system integrity checking.
  • Cloud system builds ensuring server hardening procedures are followed in line with documented process
  • Cloud system decommissions ensuring data destruction procedures are followed in line with documented process.
  • Pro-active systems performance capacity management.
  • Pro-active systems obsolescence management.
  • Extensive automation Scripting using various tools and technologies.
  • Participate in vendor service reviews.
  • Testing Disaster Recovery ability.
  • Providing Cloud technical support & guidance to application support teams.
  • 24 x 7 Callout to support the cloud platform
  • Take personal ownership of tasks & work streams delegated by manager and manage through to completion with an emphasis on timely closure.
  • Ensure operational processes are defined and continuously reviewed with supporting version-controlled documentation.
  • Regular travel to Liberty Global sites, unsociable hours & overnight stays where appropriate.
  • Occasional travel to offsite vendor locations for service reviews and/or technology briefings.
  • Contribute to and has ownership of, both individual & team objectives.
  • Ensure problem & request related work is channelled via appropriate systems so that reporting stats can be measured.
  • Ability to manage time effectively & prioritise both operational and project workloads.
  • Provide activity based reporting at intervals defined by manager and/or team leader.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards eg ITIL, Sarbanes Oxley, ISO 17799, COBIT & auditing authorities (internal & external). Taking timely action to Remedy any deficiencies and/or risk areas.
