Customer Hub QA Lead
Type of Position: Contract
40 hour work week

Job Description
This position is a Quality Assurance lead role. Successful candidates will work on the Customer Hub team to lead the testing and delivery of new and modified functionality for Customer Hub applications and database.

Responsibilities

  • Lead QA testing efforts for new releases and ongoing application maintenance
  • Monitor and maintain QA environment; restarting applications as needed
  • Represent QA in preliminary project estimation for testing activities
  • Define and document test strategy, test plans and test cases by evaluating functional and non-functional requirements
  • Provide leadership to non-technical functional testers on a day-to-day basis by empowering the test team and teaching them how to design and implement testing tasks necessary to meet the project deliverables
  • Mentor testers on a daily basis and train them to function independently
  • Develop a strong understanding of the application and domain to perform hands-on testing of the services from a technical standpoint (especially to test non-functional aspects such as load, response time, end-to-end connectivity, availability, security etc.)
  • Manage the status of defects and changes in JIRA and provide updates to the team on a daily basis
  • Attend/conduct meetings with the IT team, vendor, business team, project program and other application teams to accomplish project goals
  • Participate in demos to business unit for completed functionalities
  • Create weekly metrics/reports to capture test progress for projects and releases
  • Handle testing efforts for multiple projects/releases concurrently
  • Adapt to the needs of the group to coordinate testing efforts

Following skills are a must

  • Airline experience;5+ years
  • Sabre experience;5+ years
  • Day to day experience working with and testing web services, data bases, ETL processes, Tivoli and IR360
  • Strong SQL skills; 3+ years
  • Strong leadership skills, verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, and inter-personal skills
  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized
  • Strong at multi-tasking and prioritizing activities to meet the project needs
  • Excellent background in foundational concepts of testing
  • Recent experience in creating test strategy, test plan and test cases for large projects
  • Hands-on experience testing data bases
  • Technical depth to create and run test cases that cover a wide variety of scenarios such as functional, regression, endurance, performance, SLAs etc.
  • Good at capturing and documenting necessary details for test cases
  • Ability to learn the business logic quickly to interpret requirements and prioritize defects
  • Hands on experience using SOAPUI Pro, TOAD and 3+years

Skills that are a plus

  • Experience with Rally and MS Visio
  • Experience in coordinating efforts across team members who may not be co-located.

Education/Experience

  • Degree (Master's or Bachelor's) in computer science, computer engineering or relevant field is preferred
  • 5-7 years' experience required
