Next Ventures is urgently looking for a Sterling commerce performance test analyst for a role based in Southern Sweden

Next Ventures are currently executing a search for a results-driven Lead eCommerce Performance Engineer to join their eCommerce team.

The individual will partner with a high performing team and will be responsible for performance test analysis to ensure optimal configuration to support the Clients E-commerce application including identification of bottlenecks and other systemic issues that could lead to performance degradation. This would also include ensuring the proper instrumentation is in place to provide proactive exception based alerting ahead of actual application or customer impact. As a member of the eCommerce Solutions Support & Operations team, you will create value by partnering to lead and provide direction for continuous improvement and assisting with platform performance planning for building future capabilities.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Lead day to day performance analysis and engineering activities with regular communication and status being reported to the Operations Manager.
  • Responsible for supporting the end to end performance of the clients Sterling commerce implementation.
  • Work with Internal and external parties to utilise appropriate monitors, alert configurations, and procedures for triage and analysis.
  • Characterize, analyze and optimize the performance of a large complex eCommerce based application running under Sterling, AIX, and DB2.
  • Define appropriate performance metrics within and between each component of the eCommerce ecosystem.
  • Partner to establish baselines and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for use in measuring changes to the applications performance.
  • Research, and make recommendations for Performance.
  • Partner on the development and maintenance of performance engineering documentation and reports.
  • Help to support compliance by maintaining the environment within the appropriate security guidelines and participating in annual audits.
  • In addition to relevant technical experience, the ability to work effectively across other IT functions, and to understand and communicate in business terms is critical to this role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of senior level software performance engineering experience is required.
  • Experience in a lead capacity either ongoing within a team or as a part of significant projects and engagements.
  • General understanding of Network technologies (ie OSI Layer), Application security, Databases (preferably DB2) and MQ Messaging and Broker, AIX and Application Servers
  • Min of 5 years' experience in Java-based web applications and Commerce
  • Sterling Order Management System preferred.
  • Experience analysing solutions in a distributed architecture and ability to understand the interactions from end to end.
  • Experience with mobile platforms and system performance considerations are a plus.
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools (ie Rational Performance Tester).
