Description

Web Application Security Engineer sought be a leading global eCommerce brand based centrally in Amsterdam.

This is an English speaking position open to all levels of experience (Junior through to Senior) where you will join a Security team with the autonomy to design, develop and implement meaningful and measurable Security improvements for one of the world's largest eCommerce sites.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and implement security improvements, taking ownership of security issues and services
  • Solve problems occurring with highly available production systems and automating solutions
  • Build effective monitoring tools and plan for reliability by designing and deploying systems to work across multinational datacentres
  • Develop tools to assist the product development teams with a large number of daily change deployments
  • Stay on top of security issues in the wider world and protect our customers from them and developing company-wide security best practices

Requirements

  • Experience in engineering solutions and tools balancing security, agility and scalability
  • Expertise in one or more modern programming language - ie Java, JavaScript, Perl, Python, Ruby
  • Strong understanding of common security issues that affect E-commerce systems
  • Excellent knowledge of Software Engineering and Computer Science principles
  • Solid foundation in Linux administration and troubleshooting
  • Proven experience with automation with Configuration Management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet and Saltstack highly desirable
  • Additional experience in Networking, Security, Cryptography or Storage is a plus
