Description
A Senior Citrix Engineer is required for our public sector client for an initial 3 month contract (option for extension), based in Cardiff.
Essentials
. Achieved (or working towards) degree level or equivalent qualification in IT or able to demonstrate equivalent experience in this area.
. Professional IT qualification such as CCEE (Citrix Certified Enterprise Engineer), CCAA (Citrix Certified Advanced Administrator), CCA (Citrix Certified Administrator) plus relevant experience
. ISEB Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management (ITIL) or demonstrable equivalent experience.
. Thorough knowledge of IT Communications Infrastructure; including knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN topologies, PoP3/SMTP and how it applies to Windows networks.
Desirable's
. PRINCE2 foundation or demonstrable equivalent experience
. Knowledge of NHS Wales organisations & ITIL strategy
. Knowledge of relevant NHS standards and legal requirements relating to Information Governance and Security
Key tasks:
- Working as part of the Citrix division in the Data Centre Services team - assisting with the supporting of the Citrix application delivery tier and underpinning hardware/infrastructure for national clinical systems/services.
- Plan, document and implement XenServer upgrades for Legacy environments.
- Document existing Legacy and new Test/Dev Citrix environments ie Service Configuration, SOPs and working instructions etc.
- AppV proof of concept environment - build and document ready for a production installation.
- Support up and coming installations/expansions of WPAS & WLIMS clinical services.
Experience:
- Must have extensive experience of the following:
o Citrix XenApp - 5, 6.* & 7.*
o PVS, MCS
o HyperV/VMware
o Citrix NetScaler
- Experience of configuring and managing Gold Images in both PVS and MCS.
- Experience with StoreFront customisations.
- Experience of configuring load-balancing, GSLB and content redirection in Citrix NetScaler
* Ideally Citrix Specialist
