Software Engineer [VHDL/DSP/C/C++/LTE/Embedded software]
Our client, global IT system integrator are currently looking for experienced Software Engineer to support their managed services project with Global Telecom giant based in Spain.
The Role:
Engineers would be part of the Client's Wireless Platform Group working in the PHY team. Work within the PHY team is primarily divided between protocol development (Physical Layer) and device driver development. Most of the development work is done in VHDL/DSP/C/C++ in an Embedded environment although there is some PC development required to provide device driver interfaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development in Embedded VHDL/DSP/C/C++'
- Development and integration test of the lower level software in the client's Platform.
- Analysis of LTE/3G/2G specifications.
- Work within the software development methodology used in the Platform Group.
Skills Required:
Essential:
- Very good mathematical background
- Minimum 5 years commercial full-life cycle software development experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience of programming in C/C++
- Embedded software development experience
- Practical experience with, and knowledge of, the LTE and/or UTRAN Layer1 interface
- Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately at all levels.
- Proven track record of expertise in large, complex low level Real Time software systems
- Pro-active problem solver, able to understand the role of Layer 1 in the complete system
- Able to work to tight timescales, resolving conflicting priorities and requirements
- Experience of programming in VHDL/DSP
Highly Desirable:
- Development experience with DSPs
- Previous experience of development work for test equipment manufacturers.
- Development of software for implementing layers 1 to 2 of the OSI communication model
- Knowledge of RF
