ABOUT THE POSITION
GTN Technical Staffing is seeking a Fortinet Firewall Engineer/Security Engineer for a Contract opportunity in Plano, TX. The Fortinet Firewall Engineer will join our client's security team tasked with ensuring infrastructure stability (systems and networks) and the security of corporate and research environments. The Engineer will focus on Network Security and serve as the primary security resource responsible for design, implementation, and documentation of security postures for network deployments. The Fortinet Firewall Engineer will follow an established framework for security process to ensure optimal network security for both internal systems and external client networks.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
3-5+ years of experience in the following skill sets
- Providing engineering support for critical security systems and services including Firewall configuration, endpoint security, and computer forensics
- Hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls
- Configuration/Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III Troubleshooting/Support
- Security Infrastructure/Process Improvements/Reporting/Documentation
- Support compliance and audit activities
- Perform regular information security procedure reviews and system attestations to ensure accuracy and compliance for internal and external audit.
- Review log files across the networks.
- Monitor and maintain security systems in accordance with company policies.
- Develop creative improvements to security system capabilities
- Design, implement and support security-focused tools and services
- Participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation on a periodic basis
- Security event management (SIEM)
- Analyze system events, network traffic, security system alerts, and other security logs to assess and prioritize and differentiate between potential intrusion attempts and false alarms
- Network Security Assessments
- Vulnerability/Penetration Assessment/Risk Mitigation
- Evaluate and correct corporate security violations and breaches and report such violations as necessary.
