Our client global IT system integrator are currently looking for experienced Configuration Manager to support their customer project based in Sweden.
The Role
Reporting to the CM Team Lead, we are seeking a number of proactive Configuration Managers who will work as part of a product development scrum team and take responsibility for all the CM related activities for that product.
As well as helping to support the team in operational CM issues, you would also be responsible for mentoring the team in good CM practice and ensuring the team is complying to organizational CM standards.
You will also be responsible for working with your CM colleagues to help identify weaknesses in existing CM processes or standards and help suggest/rollout improvements to those processes in an iterative fashion.
Role Responsibilities
As an experienced CM, you would be responsible for:-
Supporting the day to day operational CM activities of your team, such as assisting in creating product baselines
Assist with tool-management where needed
Assist with CM process automation
Mentoring the team so that they are able to fulfil the overall CM requirements placed on them
Help identify weaknesses in existing CM processes and suggest enhancements
Work with your CM colleagues to help monitor compliance to CM processes and take corrective actions with teams where needed
Create CM Plans and CM strategies - both operational and strategic
Run CM audits when required
Define branching strategies and help implement them, eg rolling them out to teams, creating branches/streams etc.
Acting as interfaces between the product dev team and other areas like Operations and Test.
Running meetings and/or doing presentations to senior management when needed
Experience
The following experience would be required for the role:-
Detailed knowledge of different branching strategies and their implications
Experience working with large products with multiple components - web, Back End, caching etc.
Practical working experience with a variety of CM tools, eg IBM CLM, GIT, SVN
Good working knowledge of Agile and Scrum
Some development experience would be advantageous, but not essential
